iBUYPOWER Invitational with $100k

iBUYPOWER has partnered with ESL and Intel to launch an annual $100,000 CS:GO Invitational Cup, which will take place in Southern California from November 14-15.

iBUYPOWER has seemed content in recent months in hosting online, seasonal Invitational tournaments (the latest edition which was won by Team Liquid) with beefy prize-pools for North American teams, as opposed to sponsoring a team, which the organisation was wont to do in past years.

The computer-retailer has taken the next step in this logical chain with its decision to stage an offline, $100,000 Invitational Cup which will run at the eSports Arena in Santa Ana, California from November 14-15.

Although no team list has been revealed, n0thing's C9 are natural candidates for the iBP Cup

The event sees iBUYPOWER enter into a partnership with ESL and Intel in order to make the event possible, which will see an eight-team, double elimination bracket take place (a team list is still forthcoming).

The Invitational Cup is designated for North American teams only (which presumably includes teams plying their trade in the NA region such as Luminosity and Renegades).

The event will take place at the eSports arena, a newly opened esports-dedicated complex in Santa Ana, California (which is in the Greater Los Angeles Area), and which recently saw an inaugural $5,000 tournament take place between 3sUP and Games Academy.

The prize-pool breakdown for the event is:

1. - $65,000
2. - $25,000
3. - $10,000

The Invitational Cup will also coincide with iBUYPOWER's "eSports Day," a free community event with numerous open tournaments in various games on offer, as well as food trucks and giveaways.

Tickets for this event are free and available while space is still open: tickets for Day One and Day Two can be found at each respective link.

The action will be streamed throughout the two days over at twitch.tv/iBUYPOWER. CS:GO action will continue to play out in California in November as the following weekend will see IEM San Jose take place.
